Exercise, don't wait until free, because death won't wait!

30 September 2025

If you still choose to use time for eating, drinking, traveling, or enjoying leisure, but refuse to give time for exercise, the negative consequences may follow sooner than expected.

Many people often say “there is no time to exercise” because they have to work, take care of their family, or have various activities. But in reality, everyone has the same 24 hours; it depends on how we prioritize. If you still choose to use time for eating, drinking, traveling, or enjoying leisure, but refuse to give time for exercise, the negative consequences may follow sooner than expected.

Stroke: A Preventable Silent Danger

Cerebrovascular disease, also known as Stroke, is the leading cause of disability among Thai people. It can be caused by 2 main reasons, including:

  • Cerebral hemorrhage (ruptured blood vessel)

  • Ischemic stroke (narrowed or blocked blood vessel)

Both of these conditions lead to paralysis, paresis, and can be fatal. Importantly, once it occurs, time cannot be turned back to fix it.

Just Adjust Behaviors, the Risk is Reduced

Actually, preventing a stroke is not difficult. Simply monitor and control risk factors, such as:

  • Control blood pressure to be within the criteria

  • Control blood lipid and sugar levels

  • Treat cardiac arrhythmia conditions

  • Reduce weight to be within an appropriate range

  • Abstain from smoking, reduce alcohol, and reduce stress

Just doing this can help the blood vessels stay strong, greatly reducing the chance of narrowing, rupturing, or blocking.

Exercise is the Vital Key

In addition to controlling risk factors, regular exercise is the heart of keeping blood vessels flexible and strong, allowing blood to circulate well without premature deterioration, and visibly reducing the chance of a stroke.

Don't Wait Until It's Too Late

Many people usually realize this only when they are already ill. But by that time, treatment often cannot restore the body to how it used to be. Some individuals have to become bedridden patients, relying on others for self-care, which brings hardships upon their relatives and families as well.

Therefore, don't wait until you are free to exercise, because our lives may never truly have free time. Start today by standing up to take care of yourself, exercising a little bit regularly every day. Then you will be an "elderly person who is not old," staying healthy and strong without having to rely on anyone in the final stage of life.

"Good health can start with yourself"... With care from Dr. Pracha
